Ingredients

  • 175 g flour (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 180 g butter at room temperature (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 200 g sugar (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 3 eggs (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 100 ml milk (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • For the BUTTER CREAM (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 250 g butter at room temperature (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 450 g powdered sugar (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 6 tablespoons milk (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for chocolate cupcakes)
  • Chupa Chups Milk Choco (for filling and decoration)
  • Chupa Chups Peanut Choco (for filling and decoration)

Directions

  1. Let's start by making CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES.

  2. In a stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar until smooth. Then add the eggs one at a time, continuing to mix.

  3. In a bowl, sift the flour, cocoa, and baking powder.

  4. Add half of the flour mixture to the butter, sugar, and egg mixture.

  5. Add the milk and then the remaining half of the flour, and mix for 2 or 3 minutes to combine all the ingredients.

  6. Place the cupcake liners in a cupcake pan and fill them 3/4 full with batter. Bake at 180° C for 17–20 minutes. Always do the toothpick test before removing them from the oven.

  7. Once cooked, let them cool completely.

  8. Let’s move on to making the BUTTER CREAM.

  9. In a bowl, mix the butter with the milk until a creamy consistency forms. Then add the sifted powdered sugar in three batches, mixing for a few minutes between each addition.

  10. Finally, let’s move on to the DECORATION:

  11. Using a pastry ring, a cookie cutter, or a simple knife, cut into the center of the cupcake without cutting all the way through. Remove the cut-out piece without throwing it away, as we’ll need it to close the cupcake back up.

  12. Fill the hole in the cupcake with Chup Chups Milk Choco, trying to use different colors to create a beautiful rainbow effect.

  13. Take the center piece of the cupcake and trim off the excess so that you can close the cupcake back up.

  14. Now place the buttercream in a pastry bag fitted with a star tip and decorate the cupcake.

I couldn’t pass up this year’s new treat: Chupa Chups Choco!! They’re super crunchy and chocolatey!

But what kind of dessert should we make with these little temptations? Some super-delicious cupcakes :D

The best part is that the Chupa Chups Choco aren’t just for decoration—they’re also inside the cupcake :)

As for the final decoration, I chose to use both the Chupa Chups Peanuts Choco—which are larger and contain peanuts—and the Chupa Chups Milk Choco, but you can let your imagination run wild and choose whichever decoration you prefer.

If you don’t want to give away that they contain a delicious crunchy surprise, you can also choose to use just the buttercream as a decoration for your cupcakes—just imagine the surprise at the first bite!! :D
