This is the recipe for “fake” chocolate colomba. I really don’t like the classic colomba, but I didn’t want to miss out on this traditional dessert For Easter, to serve to friends, I decided to create my own reimagined version—quick and impressive It doesn’t require much rising, but it rises as it bakes, just like a regular cake. Give it a try—it’ll leave you speechless!

Chocolate Colomba
Ingredients
- 400 g 00 flour
- 200 of sugar
- 120 g butter
- 220 ml milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 200 g milk chocolate
- 1 pinch of salt
Directions
First, we need to separate the egg yolks (red) from the egg whites (white).
In a bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Add the butter to the mixture and continue beating the cream with an electric mixer.

Add the sifted flour mixed with the baking powder, alternating it with the milk.

Chop the chocolate and add it to the batter.
Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the batter with a spatula, stirring from the bottom up.

Pour the mixture into a 20x30 colomba pan and bake at 180°C for about 50 minutes. Always do the toothpick test before removing the colomba from the oven.

And there you have it—your fake chocolate colomba is ready! I like it way better than the real thing! :D
