Ingredients

  • 180 g butter (part 1)
  • 380 g flour (part 1)
  • 150 g sugar (part 1)
  • 250 ml milk (part 1)
  • 2 whole eggs (part 1)
  • 1 egg yolk (part 1)
  • 1 packet of vanilla extract (part 1)
  • 1 packet of yeast (part 1)
  • salt (part 1)
  • strawberries (part 1)
  • 1 banana (for variations)
  • 60 g dark chocolate (for variations)

Directions

  1. Combine the room-temperature butter, sugar, and vanilla extract in the stand mixer and beat the mixture until creamy.

  2. Add the eggs and mix everything together.

  3. Gradually add the sifted flour mixed with baking powder, alternating it with the milk.

  4. Continue mixing the mixture for 2–3 minutes.

  5. Meanwhile, wash and chop the strawberries into small pieces.

  6. Line the muffin pan with paper liners.

  7. Fold the strawberries into the mixture with a spatula and begin filling each cupcake liner 2/3 full.

  8. If you want to make different kinds of muffins like I did, divide the batter—to which you’ve already added the strawberries—into 3 portions. I didn’t add anything else to the first portion, I added a banana cut into small pieces to the second, and I added chopped dark chocolate to the third portion of the batter.

  9. Bake the muffins at 180° for about 20 minutes. Always do the toothpick test before taking them out of the oven, because baking times vary greatly from oven to oven.

  10. Once cooked, remove them from the baking sheet and let them cool.

With the arrival of summer, I got a craving for strawberries, so I tried making these muffins with strawberry chunks inside!

Then, since I was making quite a few muffins, I decided to try out some variations as I went along :) Some contain just strawberries, others strawberries and bananas, and still others strawberries and dark chocolate! I have to say, the result was truly spectacular! :D
