Ingredients

  • 500 g 7-grain flour (I used MOLINO SPADONI Pane Nero)
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil + more for drizzling over the tomatoes
  • 300 ml lukewarm water
  • 200 g tomato puree
  • mozzarella (I used fresh Montasio cheese because that’s what I had at home)
  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Here’s the first amazing thing about this recipe: there’s no salt in the pizza dough, and I assure you, you really don’t need any!

  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, oil, and yeast.

  3. Gradually add the lukewarm water and begin kneading. If using a stand mixer, it takes just 3 minutes to achieve a smooth dough, while kneading by hand will take at least 10–12 minutes.

  4. Once you have a nice, smooth ball of dough, it’s ready. Let it rest in the bowl, covered with plastic wrap, inside the oven (with the oven turned off but the light on) for about 1 hour. To help it rise better, I place a bowl of boiling water in the oven. The steam that forms will help the dough rise :)

  5. After this time has passed, divide the dough into two parts, place them on two 30-cm pizza pans, and return them to the oven to rise for an hour and a half or two. During this second rising, I also placed the bowl of boiling water in the oven.

  6. Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the tomato sauce, a pinch of salt, a drizzle of oil, and herbs to taste, and let the flavors meld. Once the second rise is complete, spread the seasoned tomato sauce over the pizzas and bake in a preheated oven at 220° C for about 10 minutes.

  7. When you see that the pizza is almost done baking, add the thinly sliced cheese to the pizza and bake until it’s completely melted.

  8. Now all you have to do is enjoy it!!! Bon appétit!!! :D

Black Pizza

Black Pizza

While browsing the supermarket shelves, I came across this 7-grain flour for making black bread, and I thought, why not use it to make a delicious pizza? I have to say, it turned out fantastic, to say the least! The package of flour I bought also included 2 packets of dry yeast. In my opinion, it’s definitely worth trying. Here’s my little recipe for you :D
