Servings: 10Cook time: 38 minCalories (per serving): 284 kcal

Ingredients

  • 330 g 00 flour
  • 80 g unrefined cane sugar
  • 40 g granulated sugar
  • 250 g water
  • 80 g vegetable oil
  • 40 g cocoa
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions

  1. After preparing the ingredients, preheat the oven to 180° C (conventional).

  2. Sift the flour into a bowl and mix it with the cocoa, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  3. Add the oil and water, mixing well.

  4. Chop the chocolate into large pieces so that it doesn't melt too much during baking, and add it to the batter.

  5. Mix well with a spatula.

  6. If, like me, you use a silicone baking pan, you won’t need to grease and flour it; otherwise, do so before pouring in the batter.

  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, and as always, check for doneness with a toothpick: when it comes out clean with no residue, it’s done!

  8. Here is the result:

  9. Before removing it from the baking sheet, let it cool by letting it rest under a clean cloth.

Hi, everyone!

One evening I wanted to bake a cake, but it was too late for the nearby supermarkets to be open, so I had to make do with what I had at home (I know, going without eggs—how do you even do that! :D).

Anyway, I have to say that the experiment was a HUGE SUCCESS—otherwise, I obviously wouldn’t even be sharing it with you! :D

A delicious plum cake—but if you don’t like chocolate, you can try the other recipes on the site by clicking HERE.
