Marbled Brownies: a delicate touch in a dense texture!

Christmas is approaching, and desserts, chocolate, and cocoa are flowing like water. We’re here to “help” by adding fuel to the fire: marbled brownies are a great recipe to bring to pre-Christmas dinners if you’re tired of the usual panetùn or pandoro! The recipe serves 8–12 people and is very easy to follow.

Chocolate and Pear Muffins: It’s starting to get a little chilly!

Fall has definitely arrived—at least here in Milan—and I’ve decided to bid a final farewell to the nice weather with these chocolate and pear muffins! In fact, just from the cover photo, you can see that I actually made this recipe back in September. I was sure the bad weather was coming, but we were spared until early November—not bad, I must say! So here’s the recipe for chocolate and pear muffins.

Coconut Brownies: The Classic American Dessert!

To get ready for the cooler weather that’s bound to arrive sooner or later, today I’m sharing a recipe for coconut brownies. They’re perfect for any occasion, but don’t gobble them all up—they’re pretty filling! I often make these to bring to work for a break with coworkers, as a weekend treat, or for dinner parties. It’s very quick to prepare, takes about 30 minutes to bake, and a sprinkle of coconut flour is optional—plus, it’s impossible to mess this up! It’s one of those recipes to always keep on hand for last-minute guests and when you’re short on ideas: this classic is always there to save the day!

Soft Chocolate Cookies

This week I was really torn about which recipe to share, but given the drop in temperatures, I decided on soft chocolate chip cookies. I know, “ARE YOU CRAZY? Turning on the oven in the summer?” you might say! But if you think about it: we make them in the evening, turn on the oven for just under 30 minutes, then hop into a lovely, refreshing shower—what’s the harm? Isn’t it more satisfying to step out of the shower feeling so refreshed…? :D
Beet and Chocolate Cake

Beet and Chocolate Cake

This** beetroot and chocolate cake** is perfect for anyone who still has leftover chocolate from Easter—or just too much of it! Plus, we can take this opportunity to eat some beets—which, between you and me, I personally don’t really like on their own, let alone the kids! I got the idea for this cake while making the savory beet pie (click for the recipe!), which was created specifically to introduce even the youngest children to this vegetable, thanks to our collaboration with our friends in Rome: MANI - Culture for Children. If you don’t know yet, we’re three really fun guys who liven up the days and evenings of kids in Rome and the surrounding area with super fun events and parties! By the way: this week (Wednesday, to be exact) will feature the penultimate post before summer break—and this time’s color is GREEN! Egg- and Butter-Free Chocolate Plumcake!

Hi, everyone! One evening I wanted to bake a cake, but it was too late for the nearby supermarkets to be open, so I had to make do with what I had at home (I know, going without eggs—how do you even do that! :D). Anyway, I have to say that the experiment was a HUGE SUCCESS—otherwise, I obviously wouldn’t even be sharing it with you! :D A delicious plum cake—but if you don’t like chocolate, you can try the other recipes on the site by clicking HERE.

Chocolate Tartufini: little balls of delight!

Chocolate tartufini are the first recipe developed for MANI: they’re a really fun group of young people from Rome who devote themselves body and soul to children’s entertainment, traveling to every library in the capital to entertain kids with a perfect blend of culture and play! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be collaborating with them to teach children the importance of good nutrition through recipes inspired by the seasons and, above all, by the colors of life.
