We couldn’t leave out the classic recipe par excellence: coffee tiramisu!
I even managed to get my boyfriend—who doesn’t like coffee—to eat it. Unbelievable!
If you’re not crazy about coffee either, why not try my two variations—strawberry (RECIPE HERE) and pineapple (LINK)!
As I promised, here’s the crispiest version of the most famous recipe on my little blog: the one for Hard “coccoretti del beglio.”(You can find the softer, more classic version by clicking here).
Just like the previous recipe, there are very few ingredients, and it’s even easier to make!
This week I was really torn about which recipe to share, but given the drop in temperatures, I decided on soft chocolate chip cookies.
I know, “ARE YOU CRAZY? Turning on the oven in the summer?” you might say! But if you think about it: we make them in the evening, turn on the oven for just under 30 minutes, then hop into a lovely, refreshing shower—what’s the harm? Isn’t it more satisfying to step out of the shower feeling so refreshed…? :D
Chiacchiere, bugie, cenci, frappe, crostoli—or whatever you call them in your area—have a very long history, which I’ll share with you here.
I found it on an interesting Facebook page (LINK), from which I’m also borrowing the image that very clearly illustrates how widespread the name is in Italy!
"Chiacchiere trace their origins to frictilia, fried pastries that women used to make in honor of the deities who protected fertility, specifically during Carnival. These pastries come in numerous recipe variations and perhaps even more so in their names, which frequently vary from province to province, reflecting the vast linguistic and dialectal diversity found in Italy, as well as its history."
Cute, isn’t it? Did you know that? Let me know in the comments what you call these treats!
This time, the recipe is from my dad: I spent an afternoon with him learning the art of making chiacchiere :).
The ingredients are for six people, and it takes about an hour to make them!
December is here! It’s time to start thinking about what desserts to make for our dear friends and family! For this loooong Sant’Ambreus weekend in Milan, I made gingerbread men!!! .
Gingerbread men, made perhaps even more famous by the first Shrek movie in the scene where he’s tortured by being dunked in milk (I’ll leave the clip from YouTube at the end of this post—check it out, it’s hilarious!).
It’s impossible to resist these mouthwatering treats donuts And, to avoid deep-frying, I decided to try making them Baked And the result was amazing. They’re fluffy, delicious, and easy to make—perfect for breakfast. I chose to sprinkle them with sugar, but you can frost them or coat them in chocolate however you like.
